Workshop 1:
“From childhood to adolescence: the idea of Montessori”
Monica Salassa, Italy

Monica Salassa, Ph.D., discussed a dissertation thesis about “The quality of
Montessori schools in Italy: a multiple case study” (2007). She is qualified as
“Cultore della materia” (Expert) in educational research working with Prof.
Clara Tornar's academic chair and she contributed study research projects to the
Montessori centre since its foundation in 2002 at RomaTreUniversity. She is
lecturer and tutor within Master courses in Montessori Education at the same
University. Her recent publication “The development of Montessori schools. A
comparative analysis” (2004) presents, through a quantitative kind of analysis,
an initial up-to-date picture of the current state of things in some European
countries compared with today’s state of development of Montessori schools in
Italy, whilst her second recent publication “Montessori secondary schools in
Italy” (2005) narrates and confronts some important experiences carried out in
Italy from the end of the 1950s up to now, with their historical and pedagogical
profile. Her research interests include a historical documentary field aimed to
arrange useful data, sources and documents for a reliable historical
reconstruction of the Montessori movement worldwide.

This Workshop is based on the lecture of Clara Tonar.
As Maria Montessori suggested in her writings, the most central focus for consolidation and definition of adolescent program design is the restructuring of third-plane studies to follow a universal syllabus or framework. It could be possible documenting and studying a diversity of initiatives and models in such a way that a reform of the secondary school is gradually brought about, a reform which reflects ever more faithfully Maria Montessori’s ideas on a universal basis.
After a brief introduction, the workshop will give raise to analysis and discussion of a selected model, the International Baccalaureate program design and frameworks, through small working group’s interaction.

Workshop 2:
“Report of an adolescent programme in Scotland”
Lesley -Ann Patrick, Scotland

Lesley -Ann Patrick is the Head Teacher of the Montessori School in St.Andrews which has a Children`s House and an Elementary Class. The school uses the natural environment to deliver Montessori pedagogy to students of all ages, and this is reflected in the landwork of the adolescents.

The workshop will share how an adolescent programme has been established in Scotland based on the Appendices of Dr. Montessori in From Childhood to Adolescence. There will be a question and answer session following a presentation of the Scottish project.

Ulrike Kegler ist Lehrerin und seit 14 Jahren Schulleiterin – ihre Schule in Potsdam, eine staatliche Gemeinschaftsschule für die Klassen 1 bis 10, wurde 2007 mit dem „Deutschen Schulpreis“ ausgezeichnet. Seit ihrem Studium ist sie ist davon überzeugt, dass die Schule schön sein kann, wenn wir Erwachsenen es nur wollen und klug anstellen. Ulrike Kegler ist als Rednerin und begeisternde Vordenkerin für eine neue Schule deutschlandweit bekannt.

Wendy Fidler is an independent education consultant specialising in Montessori Education, Autism, Asperger Syndrome, AD(H)D, Down Syndrome, Dyspraxia and other neuro-developmental difficulties. She was awarded the inaugural UK Montessori Special Award for her work with special needs children at her school, Wildwood Montessori www.wildwoodmontessori.com
Wendy has lectured across the world on Montessori Special Education and for the charity Montessori Education for Autism (MEfA) www.montessorieducationforautism.com
She has written many articles and booklets, she is an experienced Expert Witness advising English and Scottish Courts on matters of Education and she is a School and College Inspector www.eight29.com

During the years 12 to 18 children become humanistic explorers, seeking to understand their place in society and their opportunity to contribute to it. Adolescence is an age of great social development, an age of critical thinking and re-evaluation, and a period of self-concern and self-assessment. It is a transition from childhood to adulthood with the corresponding physical, mental and sexual maturation. In early puberty the adolescent finds it hard to concentrate on academic and structured learning: how much harder is this for adolescents with sensory issues? Adolescence is like an odyssey - an arduous yet exciting adventure - where the adolescent tries to find his or her place in the world.
The workshop will be a presentation.

Workshop 5:
“Inspiring and Challenging Older Children and Adolescents with Montessori Materials”
Clare Healy Walls, Ireland

Clare Healy Walls is from Ireland. She conducts Montessori training in Norway, Sweden, Ireland and China. In partnership with Britta Bring SMI Sweden she has researched and developed a training programme for Montessori teachers of adolescents 12-18 years. She is the author of At the Heart of Montessori series and The Conscious Parent.

Adolescents need an intellectual stimulus as their reasoning powers grow. Can Montessori materials provide this? If we want to create interesting dynamic challenges, from the age of about 10 years onwards, we need to find innovative ways of presenting material that do not lose the core Montessori principles of fun experimentation, work satisfaction and independent discovery. This workshop will be a hands on exploration of alternative exciting ways to use Montessori materials for this age group.

Ebba Hohlstein is the first German Montessori teacher with an AMI diploma 0-3. She was trained by Judi Orion in Denver, USA. Kinder unter 3 Jahren brauchen im Gruppenalltag eine andere vorbereitete Umgebung als ältere Kinder. Entscheidende Entwicklungsschritte und Ziele dieser Alterstufe sind: die Entwicklung der Eigenständigkeit, der grob- und feinmotorischen Fähigkeiten, die Versorgung der eigenen Person, der Spracherwerb und die Entwicklung der Ich-Persönlichkeit. Lernen Sie in einer Präsentation das Konzept von Maria Montessori für die Gruppenbetreuung von unter 3 Jährigen Kindern kennen. Im Vordergrund stehen dabei die vorbereitete Umgebung, die Raumgestaltung, die Entwicklungsmaterialien und die Übungen des Praktischen Lebens. Ergänzend vermitteln Bilder und Filmsequenzen die aktuelle und praktische Montessoriarbeit mit Kindern unter 3 Jahren.

In the daily procedures groups of children under three years need a different prepared environment than older children. Essential steps in the development and the objectives for this age group are: the development of autonomy, the large and fine motor skills, care for the self, language acquisition and the development of the ego-personality.
A presentation will inform you about Maria Montessori‘s concept of group care for children under three years old. The focus will be on the prepared environment, interior design, the developmental materials and the exercises of practical life. In addition pictures and movies convey a more complete idea of current and practical Montessori work with children under three years of age.

Seit 1992 als Montessoripädagogin und -heilpädagogin in Tokyo, Japan und Potsdam, Deutschland tätig. Leitung von Workshops und Fachberatung zur Kleinkindpädagogik für Kinder der Alterstufe 0-6 Jahre.

Kinder unter 3 Jahren haben andere Bedürfnisse als Kinder im Alter von 3-6 Jahren. Im Rahmen des Workshops werden die Entwicklungstheorie, die vorbereitete Umgebung sowie die Materialien anhand von praktischen Beispielen der Gruppenbetreuung nach dem Konzept Maria Montessoris vorgestellt. Anhand der Materialien werden Unterschiede in der Darbietung bei den Alterstufen 0-3 Jahren und 3-6 Jahren erläutert.

Axel Winkler ist Sonderschullehrer, im Moment an einer Schule für Erziehungshilfe in Bad Bramsted tätigt. Er arbeite seit 20 Jahren in der Fortbildung von Montessori-Pädagoginnen und ist Dozent bei der Deutsche Montessori Gesellschaft (DMG) und bei Montessori-Diplom plus.

In dem Workshop werden wir uns anhand der Geschichte über die Entstehung der Schrift von Maria und Mario Montessori sowohl vom theoretischen Hintergrund, wie von der praktischen Materialarbeit mit Sprachfamilien, Sprachgeschichte und dem Lesenlernen von Kindern beschäftigen.

Im Mittelpunkt stehen Musikstücke, die mit gezielten Höraufträgen erarbeitet und danach in Bewegung, Bilder oder mit Instrumentalbegleitung umgesetzt werden Es folgen weiterführende individuelle Arbeiten für die Freiarbeit wie Auseinandersetzung mit dem Komponisten, Einordnung in die Epoche, Arbeiten mit Zeitleiste und Karte.

The focus will be on providing musical piecesto which will be attached specific listening tasks, afterwards to be turned into movement, pictures or instrumental accompaniment. This will be followed up with individual assignments for the free choice work periods e.g. acquisation of information regarding the composer, finding its place within the proper time period, working with time lines and cards. More free activity materials will be on display and shortly introduced, as well as the working with the set of tone bars.

„History and Development of Montessori School in Münster”

Dr. Esther Grindel is part of the management team of the MontessoriSchool in Münster. Her dissertation was written about the promotion of particularly talented children in the Montessori method.

Dr. Esther Grindel is a member of the management team of the Montessori School in Münster. The content of her dissertation was 'the nurturing of highly talented children within the framework of the Montessori pedagogy.'

The Montessori-School in Münster is a young school, still being in the process of development. In the school year 2010 / 2011 150 pupils from class 1-6 will attend the school. In the workshop the school concept with an emphasis on the following aspects will be presented:
Combination of free work and project learning, inclusive education of handicapped and highly gifted pupils, full-time school, learning in mixed-aged groups (year 1-3, 4-6), democratic structures (class and school parliament). After the presentation, which will be illustrated by film sequences of the daily school life, learning materials especially suited for secondary education can be looked at.

„Tools for Ordening”
Design and construction of learning materials aiming at the development of the child's capacity for ordening
Nico van Ewijk, The Netherlands

Studied from 1955 till1959 at the municipal teachers training college in Amsterdam for his teacher certificate and simultaneously for the Montessori elementary diploma (6-12). Added the montessori diploma for age 3-6 in 1984.
Completed his academic study pedagogy in 1986. From 1961 till 1992 employed as a teacher at different public Montessori schools in Amsterdam and for two years at a Montessori school in Chicago, USA.
Teachertrainer at the Montessoricourse in Rotterdam 1974-1991.
Joined the teaching staff of the TeacherTrainingCollege (Hogeschool van Utrecht) as coordinator and instructor for the Montessori courses (dayschool and evening classes).
Involved in several German and Austrian Montessori courses, for the subjects Cosmic education and Geometry.
Retired since 2003. Joined the Board of Montessori Europe in 2005.

What to expect if you participate in this workshop?

1. A shorter introduction on the identity of Montessori didactic materials.
2. Presentation of models for the ordening of subject matter (content of learning), meant for use in 6-12 groups.
3. Demonstration of some learning materials designed and manufactured to let children discover the properties and functioning of different types of classification.

 

Didactic materials for alphabetical ordening. A series of didactic materials geared to letting the child succesfully explore the basic rules for placing words in alphabetical order. The complete set of materials can be classified as a 'flowchart'.

The animal-study set. An example of a systematically developed and constructed didactic material, used and evaluated in Montessori schools. This learning apparatus is based on the concept of 'concentric classification'.
The study-set of cutural history. This ‘key-material’ is also based on the concept of concentric classification.This material will allow the child to study in a systematic way any culture wherever (geographic aspect) and whenever (historic view), and will help him to mirror his own cultural setting or situation. At the same time the classification system as such will be internalized and could be applied to other subject matter.

Ganzheitliche Bildung und Erziehung in der Internatsschule
Praktische Erfahrungen mit jungen Erwachsenen im Schloss Hagerhof

In der „Erfahrungsschule des sozialen Lebens“ am Hagerhof ergänzt ein Internat den Lebens- und den Studienplan der Schule. 480 externe Jugendliche lernen gemeinsam mit 120 „Internen“, unter ihnen Gastschülerinnen und -schüler mehrerer Nationen. In dem geschützten Raum der Internatsschule erproben sie Freiheit und zunehmende Verantwortung für sich selbst und Andere. Gerade unsere jungen Erwachsenen, 16 bis 19 Jahre alt, erleben die Bedeutung dieser Chance als den Auftrag, ihre aktive gesellschaftliche Rolle in einer starken, verantwortungsbewussten Demokratie zu übernehmen. Auch der Studienplan der Schule ist „nur ein Mittel dazu“.

In diesem Workshop demonstrieren externe und interne Oberstufenschüler/innen gemeinsam mit ihrer Lehrerin und Internatsleiterin praktische Erfahrungen aus der Einheit von akademischem Studium und gelebter Demokratie. Gleichzeitig geben sie ihren Gästen die Möglichkeit Fragen zu stellen und mit ihnen zu diskutieren
Der Workshop umfasst damit sowohl Präsentation als auch Interaktion.

Die SchülerInnen der Klasse 5 erarbeiten ihr eigenes Tierbuch in den Fächern Biologie, Deutsch und Kunst. Ausgehend von einer Zooexkursion, in der ein Säugetier ausgewählt und seine artgerechte Zoohaltung recherchiert wird, erstellen die Schüler zurück an der Schule ihr Tierbuch. Der Workshop präsentiert die einzelnen Arbeitsschritte, Methoden und Abläufe und demonstriert Schülerarbeiten.

„ Self-acting on Scientific Phenomena - a practical Report from Schloss Hagerhof “

Dr. Dirk Kramer, born 1961, resident of Bonn, is married and has four children. After studies at the University of Bonn andgraduated as a physicist and PhD in the field of experimental particle physics, he spent three years in basic research at the European nuclear research center CERN in Geneva. From this period date 34 professional publications and nine international conference papers on topics in nuclear physics.
Back in Germany, he turned to education, completed a shortened practice training, passed the second state examination for teaching at secondary schools (gymnasium) and obtained the Montessori certificate. Since 1998 he works as a teacher of physics, mathematics and science at the high school at Castle Hagerhof, Bad Honnef. As an environmental officer of the company he is coordinator of the agenda for the school activities.
In the field of education he held, among other things, specialist workshops on the occasion of the Congress "100 years of Science Education according to Montessori" in Friedberg in 2007 and the third ICBF International Congress 2009 in Münster. Moreover, he is teacher trainer at Montessori diploma courses in the field of 'cosmic education'.

Fascination is an important condition for the successful study of science on high school level. “Laying seeds of interest”, in Montessori’s words, is the teacher’s task. This is mostly assured by considering natural phenomena holistically and not by dividing them into subject-specific terms. The presentation will focus on the concrete realisation of this didactic guideline in the school subject 'natural sciences', which combines physics, biology and chemistry, on the basis of selected examples. The pupils choose from a pensum as a frame and arrange their studies by themselves. As a result all children achieve a reliable base of knowledge and the gifted will be pushed to deepened investigations.

Selbsttätiges Lernen ermöglicht dem Schüler einen individuellen Zugang zur Mathematik, ausgehend von den eigenen Erfahrungen und Vorkenntnissen. Mit wachsendem Vertrauen in seinen eigenen Verstand erfährt er Mathematik als schöpferische Tätigkeit – und nicht nur als bloße Ansammlung von Wissen.
Im ersten Teil des Workshops wird das Konzept für selbsttätiges Lernen im Mathematikunterricht am Schloss Hagerhof  vorgestellt. Neben der grundlegenden Unterrichtsorganisation werden Methoden aufgezeigt, mit denen der Lernprozess begleitet wird.
Danach besteht für die Teilnehmer die Möglichkeit, mit Hilfe von bereitgestellten Unterrichtsmaterialien das vorgestellte Konzept an einigen praktischen Beispielen selbst auszuprobieren.

Sharon Duncan has a small MontessoriSchool in AthensGeorgia in the US where a diversity of income family income levels are welcomed. Her work with the biome curriculum supports the non-profit school and helps integrate environmental education into existing Montessori Curriculum. She has a Masters in Early Childhood Education and Montessori certification in primary (3-6) and elementary.

WS 18a:
What if the first impression young children received of their world at large was one of grasslands and deserts, mountains and forests instead of abstract political regions?  What if we showed them a map of biomes instead of the multicoloured patchwork of countries that was instilled in our imaginations?  In this workshop we will explore how to present a more environmental approach to geography, integrating the science and language in the process.  A biome is explored in terms of the energy from the sun, the water, the air and the soil as the elements that support plant and animal life.  The cycles present in nature are emphasized with an experiential approach, weaving traditional Montessori curriculum with ecology.
Presentation with some direct experience of the methods used.

WS 18b:
Using the foundation of an understanding of the biomes, this workshop will investigate how to approach continent studies according to biomes.  From puzzle maps to language cards that explore the animals and indigenous peoples who live in the biomes of different continents, this cultural curriculum integrates science with geography and gives children a reason to communicate through language in order to share their enthusiasm for the information and connections they discover.  Learn to use drama and art to learn about animal behavior and tribal cultures.  Bring botany alive with a study of how plants adapt to their biome.

Headmistress Antoinette Klute-Wetterau (OStD) and colleagues of the Montessori Centre ANGELL Freiburg provide insight into the educational work according to Montessori principles for the secondary level. The Montessori Zentrum ANGELL Freiburg encompasses a primary school, a middle school („Realschule“) and a secondary school which leads to a diploma qualifying for university admission (“Gymnasium”). All schools are accredited by the German state. In total, 995 pupils attend school at the Montessori Zentrum ANGELL Freiburg
In the workshop, school structure, methodology and essential content will be clarified with examples. The focus will be on the transition from primary school to the secondary level and the project work in the higher grade levels. Described exemplarily will be theater work or a farm project as a possible implementation of the Erdkinderplan.
After the presentation there ispossibility for discussing and sharing experiences. The workshop is given once in German and once in English

Schulleiterin OStD Antoinette Klute-Wetterauer und KollegInnen des Montessori Zentrum ANGELL Freiburg e.V. geben Einblick in die pädagogische Arbeit nach Montessori-Prinzipien in der Sekundarstufe. Das Montessori Zentrum ANGELL Freiburg umfasst eine Grundschule, eine Realschule und ein vierzügiges Gymnasium. Insgesamt werden an den staatlich anerkannten Schulen in freier Trägerschaft 995 Schülerinnen und Schüler unterrichtet.

Im Workshop werden Schulstruktur, Methodik und wesentliche Inhalte anhand von Bei-spielen vorgestellt. Im Fokus stehen der Übergang von der Grundschule in die Sekundar-stufe und die Projektarbeit in den höheren Klassenstufen. Exemplarisch werden Theaterarbeit und ggf. ein Bauernhofprojekt als mögliche Umsetzung des Erdkinderplans beschrieben.

Nach der Präsentation besteht die Möglichkeit zu Diskussion und Erfahrungsaustausch.

Besonderer Schwerpunkt liegt auf der Hinführung vom material geleiteten Lernen zur Abstraktion.

Über 20 Jahre Montessorilehrerin in Bayern, Primär und Sekundarstufe, Schulgründung, Schulleiterin. Seit 2003 Supervision und Beratung von  Montessoriinitiativen, Multisensorische Lerntherapeutin und Referentin im Team des „Institut für ganzheitliches Lernen (IfgL)“.

Maria Montessori’s sketch of the earth-child-plan turned out to be an inspiration for a small group of teachers.  Exactly fifteen years ago this group then dared to open the first school in Germany to be run according to these principles. 
The pilot project was approved 1995.  A place of learning was developed in the countryside for younger and older pupils, firmly established with the vision of an all-encompassing entity with kindergarten, elementary school, boarding school, workshops and official residences.
The school co-founder, also a teacher for many years, tells of the vision, the struggles, successes and the ups and downs of everyday life in the school. This place made a strong impression upon the lives of many pupils, those now in professional training, at university, even upon the lives of thoses already in the working world.
Ms. Wagner’s experiences as well as those of former students will be discussed, as well as connections to new cross-currents in the field of education.

Die Skizze des Erdkinderplanes von Maria Montessori war Ermutigung für eine kleine Gruppe von Lehrer/ innen vor genau 15 Jahren die erste Schule in Deutschland nach diesem Prinzip zu wagen.
Als Pilotprojekt 1995 genehmigt, wurde ein Lernort auf dem Lande für kleine und große Schüler aufgebaut, gebettet in die Vision eines Lebensplatzes mit Kinderhaus, Volksschule, Internat, Werkstätten und Dienstwohnungen.
Die Schulmitbegründerin und langjährige Lehrerin berichtet von der Vision, dem Kampf, den Erfolgen und den Wechselfällen des Schulalltags. Dieser Platz hat die Lebenswege vieler Schüler/ innen stark geprägt, von denen jetzt viele in der Berufsausbildung und im Studium oder sogar schon  im Berufsleben stehen.
Diese Erfahrungen werden von ihr und zum Teil auch von den ehemaligen Schüler/ innen reflektiert und es werden Verbindungen zu neueren pädagogischen Strömungen aufgezeigt.  Es wird Raum für Gedankenaustausch geben.

Exploration and research as driving forces in education

Michael Rubinstein worked for over 20 years as a teacher at a secondary Montessorischool. Now he is an independent consultant, specializing in Montessori education, and director of the Montessori Center of Knowledge of the Dutch Montessori Association.

‘Curiosity’ is a keyword in Montessori education. The natural curiosity of children should be stimulated in schools. Therefore, schools should become learning environments in which students and teachers use exploration as an important means to learn.
This presentation will focus on the relevance of exploration and research at various levels: for students at secondary Montessori schools, for teachers, for schools and, finally, for the Dutch Montessori Association.

Multi-lingualism
Katharine Wolschner, Austria

Katharina is from England and has lived in Austria for over 30 years. She has 3 bi-lingual children and 2 bi-lingual grandchildren. She taught English as a foreign language to adults for many years. She received her Montessori Diploma from the London Montessori Centre in 1991 and set up The Children's House International Montessori Kindergarten in Vienna in March 1992. It is an English-speaking kindergarten for 100 2 to 6 year olds.
Susanne is a trained Austrian kindergarten teacher who has both an English and Austrian Montessori Diploma and has been working at The Children's House as a Montessori teacher for 4 years.

An interactive workshop where we will talk a about theories of bi-lingualism or multi-lingualism, about our own experiences - especially in our international Montessori kindergarten in Vienna with children of at least 25 different nationalities.
We will have examples of how we introduce and build up the (for some) new language of English in a Montessori environment - with Montessori and other materials and with books and activities for circle time.

Analyzing the “Erdkinderplan”

Teacher of English and history at the Montessori Zentrum Angell in Freiburg im Breisgau, Germany. The Montessori Zentrum Angell consists of a primary school, a middle school (“Realschule”) and a secondary school which finishes with a diploma qualifying for university admission (“Gymnasium”). All schools of the Montessori Zentrum Angell are accredited by the German state. In total, 995 pupils attend school at the Montessori Zentrum Angell.

In this workshop the results of a research project carried out at the Albert-Ludwigs-University of Freiburg im Breisgau, Germany, will be presented. The aim of the project was to evaluate Maria Montessori’s concept of secondary education commonly referred to as the “Erdkinderplan”. The workshop will try to answer the following questions: What was Maria Montessori’s motivation to come up with this concept, what are the principles she based it upon, what are the pro and cons of it, and what could the realization of this concept look like in present day?
The intention of the workshop is to put the results up for discussion and debate whether this concept is valid in contemporary societies and applicable to an urban environment, or is only practicable within an isolated context.
This workshop is open to all participants of the Montessori Europe Congress who so far have not or only vaguely dealt with Maria Montessori’s writings concerning secondary schools, and who are interested in the theoretical background of her secondary concept.

 In einem ersten Teil wird die Forschungsarbeit präsentiert, welche Einflussfaktoren bei selbstgesteuertem Lernen nach Montessori bedeutsam sind und wie sie sich auf Lernprozesse älterer und alter Menschen in einem Wiener Tageszentrum für SeniorInnen auswirken. Dazu ist es notwendig, sich sowohl mit den Grundelementen der Geragogik als auch mit den Schwerpunkten der Montessori-Pädagogik auseinander zu setzen.  Dabei wird erstmals der Begriff "Montesssori-Geragogik" verwendet, ein theoretischer Ansatz entwickelt und ein praktisches Modell wissenschaftlich untersucht.
Im zweiten Teil des Workshops geht es um das gemeinsame Erleben des praktischen Modells "L³ - Lebensbegleitend Lustvoll Lernen - Freie Lernphasen für SeniorInnen mit geragogischen Materialien nach Montessori".

The New Gymnasium at RSG Pantarijn, Wageningen
In September 2007 we started with an new concept of Gymnasium education at Pantarijn in Wageningen, The Netherlands. We focused more specific at gifted pupils and created a curriculum with a compact program for the necessary subjects and time for extra subjects and activities. The traditional gymnasium curriculum formed the starting point, but also extra attention was given to science and art subjects. Projects in which pupils had to cooperate and that covered several traditional subjects so that teachers had to cooperate too form an important part of the program.
We like to share and discuss our ideas, program and experiences with this curriculum. It covers now the first three years of secondary education. The curriculum for the next three years is in development.

Das SMART-Board ermöglicht den Kindern/Jugendlichen ein selbstständiges Lernen in den verschiedensten Bereichen mit den in der Umwelt gängigen Hilfsmitteln. Ein eingebautes auditives, visuelles, korrektives Feedback fördern die Eigenständigkeit und die Eigenverantwortlichkeit. Die Kinder/Jugendlichen arbeiten am SMART-Board entsprechend ihren Begabungen, nach ihrem eigenen Rhythmus und in ihrer eigenen Lernart.
The SMART-Board enables children and youths to a self-contained approach to the opportunities and experiences provided by the environment. By means of an inte-grated auditory and visual feedback system independence and self-reliance are brought forward respecting a child’s individual talents and his own rhythm and way of learning.
